TikTok files the rule as Frauds and Scams, inside the section it titles Regulated Goods, Services, and Commercial Activities. In the version of the Community Guidelines released on August 14, 2025 and in force from September 13, 2025, the not-allowed list names financial scams such as fake investment offers and get-rich-quick schemes, phishing and identity theft, job and transaction scams, teaching people how to run a scam, money muling, multi-level marketing, and trading fake currency, forged documents or stolen information. Celebrity impersonation used to sell something falls under this rule as well, which surprises anyone who expected it under impersonation. Money muling deserves a second look: an account recruiting people to move money for someone else breaks the rule even when nobody in the video asks you to pay. Searches for TikTok frauds and scams mostly surface long lists of scam types, while the rule itself is shorter and blunter.

Comment scams need two reports, not one. Replies under popular videos promise a prize, a verification badge or paid work, then point to a handle. They are storefronts for the account behind them, so report the comment and then the profile it names. After both reports go in, block the account so it can no longer message you or see your profile.

Can you file a TikTok scammer report online without the app?
Yes: TikTok's Report a problem web form takes reports in a browser, and a scam belongs under the topic Report a potential violation. Its address is tiktok.com/legal/report/feedback, it opens without a login, and TikTok states that what you share there will only be used to respond to your report.
When we loaded the form on September 14, 2026, its Topic menu listed twelve options, from Account access / security and Change date of birth to TikTok For Business / TikTok Shopping, Lemon8, Effect House and Accessibility. None of them says scam. Is there a TikTok scammer report email or number?
No: TikTok publishes no scam-report email address and no phone line, so every TikTok scammer report goes through the app or the web form.
Addresses ending in @tiktok.com do exist, but each one has a narrow job unrelated to a scam profile. The phone half of the question has a darker answer. Any TikTok scammer report number found in a comment, a caption or on a complaint site is almost always a corporate switchboard that will not take the call, a dead line, or a number run by scammers who want card details to process a refund. Some numbers are worth dialing, just not TikTok's. Across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, Report Fraud takes calls on 0300 123 2040, while Scotland sends fraud reports to Police Scotland on 101. What TikTok scam reporting can and cannot do
Filing a report asks TikTok to review content against its Community Guidelines, and TikTok alone decides the result. Outcomes range from removing a single video to restricting or banning the account. Decisions arrive as notifications in the app's inbox, and TikTok's safety guides describe a Report records page inside the in-app Safety Center for following them.
Whichever route you use to report a scammer on TikTok, the decision comes from TikTok's review, not from the number of people who complained. Reporting is confidential in the way that matters to a scam victim: TikTok does not tell the reported account who filed, so the scammer receives no name or handle pointing back at you. Filing the same report twenty times changes nothing, and neither does recruiting friends to pile on, which is why Your Reputation Solution files one complete report per account instead. European users have one more lever. Under the EU's Digital Services Act, Article 20 requires platforms to give people who submitted a notice access to an internal complaint system, free of charge and for at least six months after the decision, so a rejected scam report can be contested inside TikTok.
Results that say no violation are narrower than they sound: they mean the report as filed did not show a breach, not that the account is legitimate. Nor does TikTok publish a fixed deadline for reviewing user reports, so a quiet week is not a verdict either. Refile only with something new, such as a better-fitting reason or a screenshot that shows the payment request.
Vanished profiles are harder still to read. When a scam profile stops loading, you learn that it is gone and not why: a ban, a voluntary deletion and a rename can all look the same from outside, a limit that applies just as firmly to how to know if an Instagram account is banned.

How to report fraud on TikTok once money has moved
Knowing how to report fraud on TikTok is the smaller half of the job once money has left your account. Call the bank, card issuer or payment app first, because a TikTok report cannot move money back. Here Your Reputation Solution has no lever either.
Card payments carry dispute rights, while bank transfers, peer-to-peer apps, gift cards and crypto mostly do not, so speed matters most exactly where protection is weakest. Under US rules for credit cards, the FTC's guidance on disputing charges says your letter has to reach the issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent. Gift cards need a call to the card's own company, with the card number and receipt in hand. Crypto sent to a wallet address cannot be pulled back by anyone, which is why exchanges and police want the address and transaction hash rather than a screenshot of a chat. Order matters here for the reason the Instagram guide gives about the first hour after a scam payment: the payment provider comes first, because money moves on the bank's clock.
US victims then file two reports that do different jobs. ReportFraud.ftc.gov feeds the FTC's Consumer Sentinel database, which law enforcement agencies search, and the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center takes complaints about internet-enabled fraud, which matters most when a wire transfer or crypto is involved. Neither portal promises to recover money, but both records support a bank dispute and can link your scammer to other victims. Losses to scams that started on social media reached $2.1 billion in 2025, about eight times the 2020 figure, and nearly 30% of people who reported losing money said the scam began there (FTC data spotlight, April 27, 2026). Investment scams took $1.1 billion of that total. TikTok does not appear in the FTC's platform ranking, which puts Facebook first and WhatsApp and Instagram a distant second and third.
Across the UK outside Scotland, the national route is now Report Fraud, the service that replaced Action Fraud. On September 14, 2026, Your Reputation Solution found the old actionfraud.police.uk address returning a connection timeout, so older guides pointing there send victims to a dead page. Nothing on TikTok's side can see the payment either: the money left through a bank or wallet the platform never touched, the same gap that makes deleting a YouTube channel useless against a scam loss.
Banks and card issuers often ask for a police reference number during a dispute. Local police take fraud reports even when the scammer is overseas, and that reference number is what the bank wants. Who can get a TikTok scammer banned, and who is lying to you?
Only TikTok can ban a scam account, and anyone who promises a ban or a refund for a fee is running the next scam.
Warning: a second scam can follow the first report. Accounts posing as TikTok support, fund recovery agents and hackers for hire often message people who complain publicly under scam videos. They want an upfront fee, your login or your verification code. Asking for the code is the tell that separates real recovery help from a scam, and nobody can bypass Google's identity check on your behalf, which is equally true of the login checks on TikTok.
Payment method is the fastest tell. Recovery offers that want crypto, gift cards or a wire transfer up front have already told you what they are. Government impersonators work the same crowd, and the FTC's own contact page says the agency will never demand money, make threats, tell you to transfer money or promise you a prize.
Businesses face a variant: scam accounts that borrow a brand's name to sell fake products or run fake giveaways. Same rule, stronger filing: the impersonation web form with proof that you represent the business, followed by a pinned warning on your real account so customers can check which profile is genuine.
